BIO: Jon Henderson #55, from Ashland, NE and a rider for Team Five Five Motorsports is a second generation hill climb athlete essentially born into the sport. At 2.5 years old he was competing in the micro mini class onboard a Yamaha PW50 equipped with training wheels. Now 27, he is a recent graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with his bachelor’s in business administration. Jon joined the NAHA Pro Hillclimb series in 2013 competing in Columbus, MT at the Nitro National Pro Hillclimb onboard a couple of GSX-R based machines. These days, you can see Jon onboard a KTM RC8R 1190 in the open class, a KTM 450sxf in the 450 class, and either a Honda CR500 or GSXR600 in the 700 class. Columbus, MT happens to be his favorite event simply due to the atmosphere that this event brings each and every year. The fans, crowd, promoters, freestyle show, competition, and massive flame throwers off the first jump set it all off! For 2017 he’s looking forward to hitting more, if not, all of the NAHA series events.

Q & A:
- What are your goals for 2017?/Future? My goal for 2017 besides running the entire NAHA Pro Hill climb series is to break into the top 10 at each event. The ultimate goal for 2017 is to end up in the top 10 overall points by the end of the season.
- What was your most memorable sporting moment? Although it doesn’t involve motorcycles, my most memorable sporting moment was when I was 12 years old. I had taken roughly a 10 year hiatus from racing motorcycles due to my love for baseball. At age 12, I was lucky enough to be a part of a team who would go on to win the Nebraska State Baseball Championship twice in just 3 years. These two moments will be remembered forever.
- What is your favorite NAHA venue and why? Nitro National Pro Hillclimb Columbus, MT The atmosphere at this event is unlike any event I have ever competed at. The fans are incredibly supportive of the riders at this event; the promoters go above and beyond each year to make this event possible. Not only that, they strive to make this event bigger and better than the year before and that’s exactly what this sport needs!
