BIO: Joe Shipman began racing motocross when he was just 5 years old. After moving up to Cottonwood, CA in Shasta County, Joe began riding the steep rugged forests of Shasta & Trinity counties and focused his attention to racing District 36 Hare Scrambles. In 2006 Joe competed in his first hill-climb at Carnegie SVRA in the Stock Class. Sparked by the thrill of hil-lclimbing, Joe along with the help of his dad Tony, began devoting their motorcycle enthusiasm to hill-climbing. Joe learned quickly and by 2008, earned his first NAHA podium in the 450 class. The next few years, Joe was always a threat to win, but could never seal the deal in this highly competitive sport. Finally in 2015, Joe earned his first NAHA win at the North West Nitro Nationals in Sunnyside, WA. The following year, Joe earned 3 more wins in the Open Exhibition class and secured himself in the record books by winning the 2016 Open Exhibition Championship. Joe plans to defend his Open Ex. title in 2017 and gun for championships in the other classes too!
